From Pioneer to Own Company!
In 2012 my fascinating journey into the world of drones began. As one of the pioneers in the Netherlands, I ventured into the emerging trend of quadcopters, long before it became an everyday sight in the sky. My very first drone was the Hubsan
While others were still driving RC cars, I was already flying my RC drone and exploring the possibilities of this exciting technology. The desire for more advanced features brought me to the Walkera QRX 350 a year later. Weighing 800 grams and having a built-in GPS, this was a huge leap forward. The drone not only offered the option to automatically return in case of problems (return-to-home), but could also be equipped with a gimbal and action camera, although without a live feed.
My curiosity about the technology behind drones grew steadily. To gain a deeper insight, I decided to purchase a DIY drone. Assembling and programming the drone was an exciting experience that connected me even more with this technological world.
Over time, technologies became more advanced, and better off-the-shelf products came onto the market. My interest led me to DJI drones, of which I started with the handy DJI Mini, perfect for my travels.
From now on I still use the drone, even at my current job in construction. Although the construction industry may not be known for its rapid adoption of innovations, I managed to adapt the application of the drone to the demands of the modern age.
With my drone I have been able to work more efficiently and accurately, whether inspecting construction sites, monitoring project progress or creating detailed visualizations for clients. The aerial perspectives provide a valuable dimension to my work in construction, allowing me to discover new possibilities and tackle challenges in an innovative way.
My drone, which started as a hobby, has now become an essential tool in my professional life. It perfectly illustrates how passion, curiosity and technological progress can go hand in hand, even in industries that are not always known for their rapid embrace of change. With my drone I look confidently to the future, where I will continue to pioneer in the construction sector with the limitless possibilities that this technology offers.
